There are Hard Rock Cafes around the world, but only London can boast the original. In 1971, Americans Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton opened the first burger restaurant on Old Park Lane. One of the first regular visitors was Eric Clapton, who marked his regular place at the bar in an original way -- he unceremoniously hung his guitar on the wall above it. A little later Pete Townshend of The Who sent in his guitar. To date, the rock 'n' roll memorabilia collection of London's Hard Rock Cafe has grown into one of the world's most valuable. The occasional "jamming sessions" are another reason to visit the "prehistoric rock."
