The church where people of fame and repute are crowned and buried: a Who's Who of London life from centuries gone by.
Edward the Confessor had the church in which he was buried built in 1065 and it remained the burial site for all British sovereigns until 1760. Lots of famous Britons also found their last resting place here. Westminster Abbey is also the coronation church of the royal family.
Westminster Abbey is a church in the suburb of City of Westminster. Traditionally, the kings of England are crowned and buried. The Collegiate Church of St Peter's Collegiate, Westminster belongs to the Church of England, but because of their inherent function of any diocese, but own church (royal peculia) of the British monarchy.
