Gower was the first place in the UK to be designated an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty," and it's easy to see why. This is Wales in a nutshell, an impressive feat considering Gower's tiny size. From desolate moorlands to plunging cliffs to beaches the size of football fields, Gower is a bit like a greatest hits album on repeat. With all that coastline, Gower is justifiably famous for its swimming and, unexpectedly, surfing, but there are also castles and churches to occupy you when the weather turns suddenly.
