A glimpse into life during the 19th century
Tenement flats were the norm during the 19th and early 20th century, an easy way to house a population that was booming due to the Industrial Revolution. The Tenement House refers to the ground-level flat of Miss Agnes Toward, a shorthand typist who held onto a number of Victorian furniture, antiques, and other lovely pieces. Though most of what you'll see in the flat today are duplicates, a visit to the Tenement House is still a great way to get a sense of a lifestyle that is long gone.
