Barcelona's acropolis: the climax of Catalonian Gothic architecture.
Building began on this gigantic church in the 11th century on the foundations of an early Christian basilica destroyed by the Moors. It was only between 1298 and 1448 that the wonderful nave acquired its present shape.

Sehr sehenswert! Nach 17 Uhr wird kein Eintritt mehr verlangt, hat aber den Nachteil, dass die Kathedrale voller mit Besuchern ist. Will man sie in Ruhe genießen, zahlt man die 6 Euro Eintritt.

Lovely cathedral, tucked away in between shops and houses. (its also near a roman wall and defence towers). it is 6 euros to get in and are strict on dress code (no knees and shoulders showing). you may prefer santa maria del mar which is free to get in and relaxed about clothes, just be aware of ita opening times.
