The quaint town of Aberfeldy, Scotland’s first Fairtrade Town stands on the banks of the River Tay, on the A827 which runs between the A9 and Loch Tay. Popular with kayakers who brave the rapids in nearby Grandtully, the village is well placed geographically for exploring the northern part of Perthshire and less crowded than Pitlochry. The 14-mile- long Loch Tay is surrounded by some of the loveliest scenery in Perthshire and is well worth exploring.
