Hometown of the Bard, and now a living tribute to him
Be prepared to learn everything you ever wanted to know about Shakespeare - because this is where he lived for most of his life, most of the historic cottages and churches on the tourist trail have some association to him. And it would be a shame if you left Stratford-upon-Avon without catching a performance of one of the Bard's famous works! But once you've had your fill of Shakespeare, take a few day trips - the magnificent Warwick and Kenilworth castles are nearby, not to mention the fact that you are in the middle of the pretty Cotswold countryside.
