A place of pilgrimage - the graves of the great and good.
The largest of all Parisian cemeteries: an outdoor museum for hours of strolling around. So many famous people lie in such strange graves that it is advisable to get a free-of-charge map at the entrance to avoid hours of disorientated searching.

Go and see the last home of the "Lizard King". Doors-frontman and immortal rock'n'roll-legend Jim Morrison died in Paris in July 1971.

I used to live up the street from this place and, creepy as it sounds, would often picnic here. The tombs are stunning works of art and the corpses of plenty of famous authors and thinkers are interred here. Jim Morisson's grave is plain save for the graffiti and offerings of cigarettes. Chopin, Balzac, and Gay-Lussac are here, too.

It is a tombs labyrinth so you better buy a map at the entrance for 2.50 euros. Most of them are ruined and people are not polite that in order to see the famous one climb up to the others.
