The Monument aux Girondins (also called Colonne des Girondins), built at the end of the 19th century, stands on the large Place des Quinconces and glorifies democracy. The Girondins were a group of what have been called political activists who were killed in the turmoil of the French Revolution.
One of the most beautiful and majestic fountains of France.
