Alençon has a pretty, part pedestrianised centre with medieval buildings. Tourist train in summer months. Markets Thursday and Saturday. Alençon Tourist Office is housed in the former palace of the Dukes of Alençon, the 'Maison d'Ozé', next to the Eglise Notre Dame. Birthplace of St Therese of Lisieux, draws pilgrims from around the world.
