Bernadette Soubirous was the girl who made Lourdes famous. In 1858, the Virgin Mary appeared to her in a cave 16 times over a period of five months. During this time, a spring also began to flow in the cave, the water of which is said to have curative powers.

I am not really religious but everyone has to see this town and the people living there. Theres much capitalistic staff there but you can find really nice places and people there.
