In Lieksa one should see the Pielisen Museum with traditional wooden houses and the Church of Reima and Raili Pietilä, which replaced a previous building designed by Carl Ludwig Engel, of which the tower is preserved. The rapids at Ruunaa and the Patvinsuo National Park are nearby attractions.
