Forssa is a town and municipality of Finland.
It is located in the middle of a triangle defined by the three largest cities in Finland (Helsinki, Turku and Tampere), in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Tavastia Proper region. The municipality has a population of 17,916 (2007-04-30) http://www.forssa.fi/?pageid=VNeAterwLaAwsw9 and covers an area of 254.7 km² of which 5.3 km² is water. The population density is 73.0 inhabitants per km².
Forssa is known for its annual big events like in the first weekend of August held Holjat Festival as well as car enthusiastists get together in http://pick-nick.com/content/view/31/76/ Pick-Nick, the biggest event in Northern Europe. A wonderful opportunity to run in a clean air and beautiful countryside. Suvi-ilta Maraton takes place a weekend before Midsummer. Horse trotting is very popular in Finland and in Forssa there is a relatively popular horse trotting track.
