Europe's first car-free shopping street remains it's longest.
Suddenly you are amongst the stream of shoppers in the Strøget shopping area, which extends from Rådhuspladsen for a good 2 km as far as Kongens Nytorv. Strøget was the first area in Europe to be declared a pedestrianised zone in 1962.
