Faaborg is still an important ferry terminal. In the old town, a 12th century bell tower rises up above the low houses on the narrow cobbled streets. The tower is the only remaining part of the Saint Nicholas Church. The Faaborg Museum exhibits paintings by Fyn artists dating back to around 1900.
