Dresden's central square ever since the 13th century. It was destroyed in 1760 in the Seven-Years' War and then reconstructed in a baroque style until in 1945 everything was destroyed in a hail of bombs. In 1953, reconstruction began here with a modern block design featuring neo-baroque stylistic elements.

After the war, the reconstruction was very neo-Baroque, in the 1990s the place was small again and we Dresdner took a long look at the cool new buildings get used to, but now they make sense and do not bother me even more at the Christmas market. Lego architect, I take that back.
