A top event every year - Wagner's grandson Wolfgang invites opera fans to Bayreuth for a major opera.

Richard Wagner's Festspielhaus has just under 2000 places, all simple folding seats. The foundation stone was laid in 1872. A highly interesting feature is the position of the orchestra (in accordance with Wagner's plans) such that it cannot be seen and the well thought out sound guiding system.
