Reichstagsgebäude

The modern glass dome above the venerable old building attracts the crowds. From the highest point of the towering glass dome you can enjoy a great view.

4The Reichstag was built according to plans by Paul Willot in 1884-94. Suffering severe damage by the Reichstag Fire in 1933 and the wartime struggles over Berlin, it was rebuilt from 1961 until 1972. The first Bundestag of the reunited Germany was constituted here in 1990.

reviews and insider tips for Reichstagsgebäude

There are a few ways to beat the queues even during peak times: You can take the side entrance to the right (without any queue) if you
1) are a family with kids
2) are with a handicapped person
3) have a reservation for the roof garden restaurant run by Käfer (no need to have a whole dinner, just an ice coffee will do...). Tel. +49-30-226299-0

While the queues to get on top of the Reichstag can be rather long (especially at peak times) it's worthwhile checking by late in the afternoon / early evening because you'll have a good chance to be lucky to get in without any wait. in summer the Reichstag is open until 10pm (!) and when I stolled along the river Spree I managed to pop in in under 10 minutes. The view from the roof garden is magnificent ... go on, don't miss out.

It's fucking awesome, how powerfull this building appears. It is just great and during the sunset it gets a nice orange touch. Behind the Reichstag is a very nice spot at the river Spree. It is fun just to sit there and watch the ships and enjoy the moment.
