Built as a 3.5 km long bridle path from 1883-86, the Kurfürstendamm was the main shopping street for West Berliners before the fall of the Berlin Wall and the essence of cosmopolitan style. Today, it is predominantly Japanese and Russians who shop in its many boutiques.
