The promenade mile along Hamburg's Alster. All this was private property once: the rich owners of villas in the Harvestehuder Weg let their cows graze here. Everything is open to the public today. Insider tip: the small Red Dog Bar before the bridge called Krugkoppelbrücke, was a public WC once.
