Former high school turned torture chamber
Known as Security Prison 21 (S-21) during the days of Pol Pot, a peek into each classroom reveals the various modes of torture that the Khmer employed on its victims. In case the old instruments and equipment aren't enough to jump-start your imagination, there are heartbreakingly graphic photos of victims in the midst of their suffering. There are also photographs of the victims who died here, many of whom were sympathizers with the previous Lon Nol regime but also included party activists and Communist officials who were seen as a potential threat to Pol Pot.
