The new museum for European Old Masters stands on Sachsenplatz and has already won the deep affection of the locals.
The picture museum is one of the city's most important. From the wide halls, the glass-roofed courtyards and the seemingly endless staircases, right down to the last corner of the little exhibition rooms, the picture museum provides an overview of art history.
