Georgetown Travel Guide

Once a sleepy tobacco port, these days Georgetown is known for its trendy restaurants and upscale shopping. Though this is where Georgetown University calls home, this neighborhood does not cater to student budgets - remember, JFK and Jackie Onassis once called Georgetown home, too. Its location on the Potomac translates into a happening waterfront bar scene, and once you've cured your hangover, go check out a few of the historic houses and gardens to see Georgetown's other, more genteel side.
