The museum in Greifswald is a must and not just because of the pictures by Caspar David Friedrich.
The museum, which was completed in the summer of 2005, chronicles regional history from the Ice Age through to the present day. There are seven works of Caspar David Friedrich hanging in the picture gallery. The acoustic guide system is an interesting feature - via headphones you are given interesting facts about individual epochs and objects which you can select as you wish.
