In Bremerhaven: pure horror, even during times of peace.
A tour of the submarine U 2540, which was built during the Second World War, is over 76 m long but is only 6.60 m wide, clearly shows the cramped conditions, noise and the stench of oil which submariners had to endure on their hellish missions.
