This park with its manor house and view of the Elbe shows visitors why Hamburg is perhaps Germany's greenest city.
The west of Hamburg established itself early as the residential district for prosperous merchants. The Jenisch House is one of the most attractive of the country houses built at the time, modelled on the English style. Even Prussia's minister of building, Karl F. Schinkel, had a say in the design.
