Largest court complex in Europe, beautifully restored
Hackesche Höfe, built in 1905-07, are famous for intricate architecture. Here pubs, cinemas, galleries, music halls, and shops have recently been installed. Near adjacent Sophienstrasse lived many Jews with a strong craft and retail tradition. Testifying to this is the partially rebuilt New Synagogue in Oranienburger Strasse.
