The Gaslamp Quarter has reinvented itself in recent years and become a popular destination for San Diego locals and tourists. It hosts many bars and restaurants and some of the best clubs in town. If you get in before 10pm, entry is half price in most places. Parking might be a bit of a hassle, and is quite expensive. The area is great for a spot of shopping too, with all the major chains in an international mall, as well as a few cute boutique finds. We recommend this district for a night out on the town, although it has a slight edgy feel after dark. Use your instincts and you will remain safe.
