Geisenheim has more of a city feel to it. Sights worth seeing include the cathedral, a 700-year-old lime tree on the market square and Villa Monrepos, which was constructed in 1863 and is surrounded by magnificent parkland grounds. An educational institution of international repute can be found here in the shape of the research institute for wine growing.
