Reit im Winkl is well known as a winter sports resort in Bavaria where snow is guaranteed. Splendid farmhouses, whose flat saddleback roofs are often weighed down with stones, characterise the little town. The ski and regional museum in Hausenhäusl are interesting. An area of glacier mills can be found close to Wimmerkreuz.
