One of the top destinations of choice for skiers in Asia.
Hirafu, the central village referred to when most Asian skiers mention "Niseko", is a newly minted hot spot for Asian skiing destinations. The compact village is one of three main ski areas in the vicinity, with beautiful views of Mount Yotei, newly developed resorts, apartments and houses, restaurants and bars, and of course, onsens.
For foodies, it is useful to know that one of the apprentices who trained under Tetsuya (of Sydney Australia) has opened his own restaurant in Hirafu, named Kamimura. Numerous other boutique discoveries are available for food lovers.
