Hitzacker

The historic district of Hitzacker is situated on an island surrounded by the Elbe. There are cobbled streets with beautiful half-timbered houses along them. The customs house, which was built in 1589, recounts the history of the town. The town's famous vineyard is the most northerly in Germany.
