The Olympic Village (Vila Olímpica), which is surrounded by beaches, has been around since 1992 and has a newly created yachting marina. The beach at the front features a fascinating large sculpture by Frank O. Gehry - an almost 50 m long fish made of bronze.

Port Olimpic is part of Villa Olimpica –Poblenou. Before it used to be just Poblenou but it spread into 5 sub-districts. Diagonal Mar, Vila Olimpica, Front Maritim, Poblenou and I can’t remember the last one. That area is a bit in decadence because of the atmosphere (the ones who live there never go there!) it is much better going to the Paseo Marítimo area, in front of the Hosp. Del Mar, where the restaurants have a better quality (and price!).
