Statue of Genghis Kahn travel guide

Genghis Kahn's memory is alive and well in Mongolia, and nowhere is that more apparent than in this gigantic statue of the warrior legend. Unveiled in 2009, the 130 ft., gleaming homage to Kahn lies in the middle of nowhere, about an hour's drive from Ulaan Baatar. Visitors can walk to a deck on the horse's head - Kahn is, naturally, depicted on horseback - and there are plans for an entertainment complex, as well as a hotel and spa.
