The townscape of Traben-Trarbach is dominated by beautiful art nouveau buildings, in particular the bridge gatehouse built by Bruno Möhring in 1899. Defensive structures worth seeing include the town walls and the remains of "Mont Royal" fortress, erected by the Sun King Louis XIV.
