The coastal resort of Sellin lies on a steep bank which rises up 40 m. The town is bisected by Wilhelmstraße, which is lined with linden trees, features shops and restaurants and leads to the steep coastline along which the wide sandy beach extends. The pier, built in 1992, is an imitation of the historic structure that preceded it.
