El Nido

El Nido is a municipality on the island Palawan and is located about 420 kilometers (260 mi) southwest of Manila and about 238 kilometers (148 mi) northeast of Puerto Princesa. In 2010 El Nido counted 36,191 inhabitants. The municipality consists of 18 barangays. Even if El Nido itself is already pretty crowded and doesn’t have any extremely nice beaches, it is the perfect hop off point for island hopping and also still the cheapest place for trips to the “Bacuit Archipelago” since the accommodation on the small islands is really expensive. But also next to the exploration of the archipelago, El Nido has a lot to offer. Kayaking, waterfalls or cliff climbing are only a few things you can do. Plenty of restaurants in town offer really good food and several bars entertain their guests with live music or karaoke, billiard and much more. If you travel to Palawan, El Nido is definitely a must! Even if crowded during the high season you should not miss out on the beautiful scenery of the “Bacuit Archipelago”.

  • This place is AMAZING. Would have to be, by far, the most beautiful place i've been to. From the deserted beaches scattered on the different islands to the hidden lagoons... this place is magical. :)
