The most famous landmark in the city, the Space Needle was constructed for the 1962 World’s Fair. It stands at 605 feet high (184m) and has an Observation Deck at 520 feet (160m). Twenty-five lightning rods are there for its protection. Visitors can buy souvenirs from the gift shop.
