Almost unspoilt is the Old Town with its half-timbered buildings which date from four centuries and range from splendid patrician buildings right through to the simple accommodation of agricultural workers. The best feature is the 1544 town hall with all its carvings.
Wernigerode, the "colored town" on the resin offers something for everyone. We were very often in Wernigerode in the Harz mountains on vacation. Wernigerode is an experience every season! The town hall, the castle of Wernigerode, the smallest house, the house Krummelsche, Cafe Vienna are just some of the sights of the town of Wernigerode. A recommendation is definitely a city tour with the tourist train. The moves also to the castle of Wernigerode and zoo Christianen valley, whose entrance is free and where there is to see many amazing animals in large enclosures. With the Harz narrow-gauge railway, you can easily take the lumps and if you are lucky then you can enjoy a magnificent view. The Brocken Museum is also very interesting.
