The double-towered church is the city's emblem. It was here that the reformer, Ulrich Zwingli, set the wheels of the church revolution turning.
According to legend, Charlemagne endowed the first church on the spot where the city's patron saints, Felix and Regula, are said to have gone with their heads under their arms, after they were beheaded. A stone statue of the founder may be seen in the South Tower. The towers can be climbed.
