Thanks to the splendid location and the mild climate, Montreux is the real gem on Lake Geneva. The focal point of the town is Montreux Ville. A walk along the Waadtländer Riviera is highly recommended. You will find the casino with the outdoor swimming pool and park by the shore of the lake.

Sorry, but I personally find that Montreux is overrated. For my taste there is too much build up and above all too expensive. When I visit, I go with my people prefer to Vevey, which is located directly on the lake, has a beautiful beach promenade, very nice shops, interesting restaurants, a beautiful old town, accessible by train and boat, something for everyone, and It is not that expensive. I live way in the Vaud Alps'm so often in Montreux.
