With its atmospheric Old Town which dates from the 15th-18th centuries and sits above the idyllic Lake Murten, Murten is one of the most delightful small towns in Switzerland. From the battlements of the town walls, you can enjoy a delightful view of the town and lake. The baroque main street with the Berntor is magnificent.
