Nyon marks the transition from Petit to Grand Lac. Beautiful late-Gothic town houses still provide evidence of the town's golden age in the 16th century. The imposing castle at the eastern end of the Old Town was built in the 13th century and today houses the Musée Historique et des Porcelaines.
