Flanders’ lesser known Art City dates from the 9th century, but is still alive and kicking. Due to its leading role in Brabant, as original seat of the Dukes and later in its competition with Brussels, Leuven has its fair share of monuments and sights. Its youthfulness can be traced back to 1425, ever since the then founded Catholic University of Leuven draws thousands of students to town. All these youngsters need entertainment, the result is an abundance of pubs, bars and restaurants. And Leuven’s shopping streets even attracts the expats living in the outskirts of Brussels.
When the streets exhausted your feet or the history blew your mind, just sit back and relax with a Stella beer; a global flagship brand of Leuven.
