There are many idyllic spots in Aarschot, along the unspoilt course of the River Demer. The town's highlight is the Gothic Onze-Lieve-Vrouwkerk with its beautiful 16th century crucifix and choir stalls. The Begijnhof built in 1635 houses the Local History and Folklore Museum.
