Harmony in a square.
Time passes more slowly in Madrid's "main square" than it does in the rest of the city. Lots of young tourists gather around the fenced-off equestrian statue of Philipp III in the middle of the square. Look back and admire the enormous walls of the houses on the outer western side of the square.

Packed, touristy and you have to watch our bag. However, the architecture is worth going there and having a look around.
Apart from the tourist restaurants, do not forget the small taverns, its specialty is calamari sandwiches, sausage ..... a very reasonable price. Do not worry about the papers in the soil, was once a sign of quality.)
For me the focal point of the city. From here, much is within walking distance to great museums of tapas bars!
enjoy watching street performers and atmosphere. just around the corner there is the newly renovated mercado de san miguel for tapas, wine and cava!
