Great atmosphere and excellent food. I reccomend the desserts. They have a non smoking room that is quite an asset in Vienna.
The name, which references the North Pole, evokes quite misleading associations. The rustic yet modern tavern between the Nordbahn and the northern section of the Augarten Park in the second district is a prime example of Viennese hospitality and gastronomic culture. In this place the focus is on the hearty Bohemian dumpling dishes one's grandmother might serve. The menu includes deep-fried blood sausage pockets, pork fat dumplings, egg dumplings, plum jam turnovers, as well as Bohemian beer.
