Forests, meadows, "Wurstelprater" and a big wheel - the recreational paradise with an underground connection.
In the section near to the city centre, the huge nature park between the Danube and the Danube canal contains the Volksprater with bars, carousels, a rollercoaster, autodrome, shooting galleries and other curious attractions. The real gem is the huge big wheel, which started operating back in 1897.

Don't expect a high-tech-pleasure-ground - the "Wurstelprater" draws its attraction from tatty retro-fun-rides and plenty of plastic-oddities. You will even find the oldest ghost train in the world. A very Viennese place!
nerve wracking rides ...colorful and majical
This park located just outside the centre of Vienna is a great place to come for an afternoon. There are plenty of rides from the haunted fun house to the scarier roller coasters and the giant swing ride. It is also a nice place to chill out on a sunny day.
nice but the best is the green park behind the wurstelprater.
Not bad in the fun fair type of thing, 8.50 euros to get a view of the ferris wheel at the entrance.
There are definitely better amusement parks - but you should go and check it out!
If you ask me the Prater is pretty overrated, and you don't really have to see it...
The adventure park in Vienna - the Prater - is really cool and it's nice to spend an afternoon there
Great place to go on a sunny weekend. Nature, amusement park, food and lots of great drinking opportunities. Definitely a must to check out one of the worlds first amusement parks.
