The Zoo is an architectural jewel from the Baroque era. Founded in 1752 it is the oldest existing menagerie in the world and has its own "Desert House" (facing the Palm House in the park).

Considered as the oldest existing zoo in the world, the Vienna-Tiergarten really has a very special atmosphere, consisting of narrow paths, a lot of vegetation and old baroque animal-housings and pavilions. Sure, it's the animals that star here. Panda Fu Long is one of the visitor-darlings. The zoo is especially popular with small children and young couples.
