Towering over the city, Victoria Peak offers perhaps the most commanding view of the Mid-Levels, Central and the harbor. Much cooler than the flat areas below, it's no wonder that British set up summer homes here; over time, its relative seclusion ensured that it became the hideaway of the city's elite. Though access is no longer a problem, Victoria Peak remains the stomping grounds of some of the biggest names in Hong Kong. Nevertheless, the views, draw thousands of tourists each day - most choose to walk the hour-long Peak circuit, but there is also a shopping center, Madame Tussaud's gallery, and Ripley's Believe It or Not.
The Peak Tram, leaving from the Lower Peak Tram Terminal in Central, is a hair-raising journey to the top of Victoria Peak that is surprisingly quick, despite the 27 degree angle at which it climbs. You can also take bus #15 from Central Bus Terminal.
